Welcome to the new Kennesaw Watch website! The Watch began as a Facebook page because there was a dire need to bring more attention to how our tax dollars are being spent in the City of Kennesaw, as well as on decisions and projects, by the Mayor and Council. The check register does not give the taxpayers enough detailed information. Taxpayers should not have to spend their own money on public records to gain information that should be readily available to all on the City of Kennesaw website. Citizens should be able to type in the name of the Mayor and each Councilmember, and view all expenditures and activity that involve their spending of our tax dollars. In addition, every member of every Board and Committee should be listed on the City website, along with the name of the person that appointed them and their term timeframe. As more Citizens and Business Owners, join The Kennesaw Watch, we will be covering more topics. In the future, we plan to have meetings and guest speakers. The Election in the City of Kennesaw is over. Now the voters need to make sure those elected follow through on All their campaign promises. The Citizens and Business Owners of Kennesaw will be watching!

In response to questions posted about the affiliation of the Watch: To clarify any misconceptions …The Kennesaw Watch is not affiliated with the Kennesaw Patch, which is a for profit business, owned and run by AOL….nor are we affiliated with the City of Kennesaw. We are a grassroots community organization, that is just beginning. We advocate for transparency in Government, and accountability of the spending of our tax dollars by our Elected Officials. We also support our Military and Veterans …and promote businesses and community events. We started with a Facebook page several weeks ago, and now are working on a website. Feel free to get involved and join us. There needs to be a “Watch” in every community in the United States of America. Like our Facebook page, and feel free to post on our Wall and/or add your business or community event on our website TheKennesawWatch.com ..We welcome freelance writers who would like to write about some of the topics that interest our Watchers. Together we can make a difference!
